Community Engagement

The Company believes that business growth must be followed by an increase in the Company’s surrounding community’s welfare, both economically and socially. In determining programs to improve the socio-economic welfare of the community, the Company involves the surrounding environment and local communities in its operations. The Company and its Subsidiaries manage more than 100 branches and 50 factories spread across more than 25 provinces in Indonesia. In developing and maintaining each branch, the Company involves the surrounding environment and opens job opportunities for interested talents around the Company's operational areas.

Other social and community development activities that are also carried out by the Company include conducting blood donation activities in collaboration with PMI (“Indonesian Red Cross”). This activity is carried out at the head office, branch offices and also occasionally in collaboration with other institutions supported by PMI. In addition, the Company is also actively implementing assistance programs for disaster victims around its operational areas, including the disasters that occurred in Palu and Lombok by providing assistance in the form of money, food and clothing. Not to mention, communities surrounding the Company’s operational area that need assistance for repairing roads, bridges and other facilities and infrastructure are considered annual activities for the company. The Company also plays an active role in social and community development by helping promote community plantation and agricultural products through the use of industrial gas applications.

Educational Collaborations

The Company proactively conducts various collaborations with educational institutions in the Republic of Indonesia. One of the latest collaborations is with the University of Surabaya (“UBAYA”) for the Arief Harsono Scholarship (“AHS”) program, a scholarship program given to new students of the UBAYA Faculty of Engineering for the 2021-2022 academic year who have been declared to have passed the selection jointly by Samator Group and Ubaya. The scholarship will cover 100% of the Educational Contribution Fee, 100% of the Tuition Fee and living expenses during the normal study period (8 semesters) according to the standards applicable at Ubaya. During the scholarship study period, students have the opportunity to get company orientation at Samator Group, company visits, and internships for a minimum of 6 (six) months  at one of the companies from Samator Group. Meanwhile, after scholarship recipients graduate, they will have the opportunity and priority to be recruited and have a career in Samator Group with salaries according to the standards applicable in the company.

Together with the parent company Samator Group, the Company has also entered into a collaboration with UGM (“Gajah Mada University”) in the context of research related to industrial gas applications for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (“MSME”) products. In this study, the Company facilitates industrial gas and its installations for conducting research that will explore the latest ways to improve the quality of products produced by MSMEs. With this collaboration, it is hoped that the sales of national MSME products can continue to increase. In addition to cooperation with UBAYA and UGM, the Company also signed an MoU with ITB ("Institut Teknologi Bandung") for an R&D program that will study ways to help reduce air pollution by establishing a CO2 plant, through which emissions in the air will be taken, be purified and ultimately be re-used by the industry.
