Carbon Monoxide
Carbon Monoxide is a colorless, odorless gas and a flammable toxic substance. Liquid Carbon Monoxide is a cryogenic liquid at a temperature of -192⁰C and atmospheric pressure.
Carbon Monoxide becomes a flammable vapor as the temperature increases and has 50 ppm TLV (Threshold Limit Value). In the metallurgical industry, Carbon Monoxide is used to recover nickel purity levels from raw ores in the Mond process and for special steels and for oxidation reduction. In addition, Carbon Monoxide is also used to obtain high purity metal powders, such as zinc white pigment and to form certain metal catalysts which are applied in the synthesis of Hydrocarbons or organic compounds or oxygenating.
