Response to the CNG Gas Cylinder Explosion in Sukabumi

Jakarta, 29 November 2023 - PT Samator Indo Gas Tbk ("SIG" or "the Company") extends its deepest condolences to the victims of the CNG gas cylinder explosion that occurred on Jalan Sukabumi - Bogor, Sukabumi Regency, West Java. The Company hopes for the smooth progress of the evacuation and handling of the victims, and wishes strength for all the affected families.
Based on the information received by the Company, as of November 29, 2023, the local police together with the Central Police Laboratory (Puslabfor) are still conducting an investigation into the explosion incident. The Company is also aware of allegations directed towards the Company from several witnesses as reported by national media.
The Company wishes to confirm that there is no involvement of Company personnel that resulted in the accident. Distribution assets such as trucks and cylinders that experienced the explosion are not owned by SIG or PT Samator, as the holding company. The distribution assets owned by SIG and PT Samator are identifiable by the Company logo and are equipped with Company barcodes.
This incident serves as a reminder for the Company and all stakeholders to mutually prioritize and safeguard safety in business operations. The Company enforces an internal Health and Safety Policy and is certified with ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 9001:2015 as standards for occupational health and safety and product quality management.
